It is really useful for several members of the family to familiarise themselves with this. Luckily our auntie was very involved, so on the rare occasion that mum was unwell,  my auntie could step in and do this. 

For some family members, they may feel as though this is something they would rather not do, and that is absolutely fine. Everyone has the right to refrain from doing anything they are not comfortable with, however if there are members of the family that feel ok about it, then it's definitely a good thing to learn.
