Goodbye Gav

Sadly on June 17th Gavin passed away peacefully at home.

This was after a turbulent time experiencing many chest infections. Due to not being mobile Gav was always prone to getting poorly.

In the February Gav had been taken poorly and rushed to hospital with very large blood clots on his lungs. He never really got better after that and he sadly deteriorated after this illness. We were lucky to have the support from the prospect hospice and they were amazing.

We may not have had much support at all over the 4 years but the last 6 months he had huge amounts of love and care from the team of carers and prospect.

Regardless of his daily battles he still found the energy to smile and have the odd joke around but he definitely made it clear he was fed up.

Gavin was an amazing person. He had the ability to make anyone laugh even on the darkest of days. The world seems such a dull place now without him and he has left a huge void in our lives.

Gavin had a quote he used regularly, he always made a joke about how much bad luck as a family we have and he used to say "if it wasn't for bad luck, we would have no luck at all".

Gavin, you really were one in a million. We miss you. We love you X
